Dr. Steven Stack has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Kentucky Department for Public Health, succeeding Dr. Allen Brenzel who retired after serving for 18 months. Dr. Stack, who previously held the position from 2004 to 2012, returns with extensive experience, having also served as a medical consultant for the U.S. Public Health Service and as a physician in the U.S. Air Force. His reappointment was announced by Gov. Andy Beshear, who praised Dr. Stack's dedication to public health and his readiness to tackle the challenges ahead, including the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Stack expressed his honor in serving Kentucky again and his commitment to improving the health and well-being of its residents.
