On June 17, 2025, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced the appointment of Dr. Steven Stack as the state's new Health Commissioner. Dr. Stack, who previously served in the same role from 2012 to 2017, returns to lead the Kentucky Department for Public Health. Governor Beshear praised Dr. Stack's experience and leadership, especially during his tenure when he managed significant public health challenges. Dr. Stack expressed his commitment to improving the health and well-being of Kentuckians and working collaboratively with healthcare professionals across the state.
