A mysterious illness has claimed the lives of 17 people in the Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir over the past month. The disease, which has not yet been identified, presents symptoms including fever, breathlessness, and swelling in the body. Despite extensive testing, including for Covid-19, the exact cause remains unknown. Local health authorities have sent samples for further analysis to various labs, including those in Delhi, to determine the nature of the illness. Meanwhile, the community is gripped with fear as the number of cases continues to rise, with some patients showing signs of recovery while others succumb to the ailment. The government has assured that all possible measures are being taken to identify and control the spread of this mysterious disease.
