Hundreds of participants gathered at the First National Tower in Omaha, Nebraska, for the annual "Fight for Air Climb" event, aimed at raising awareness and funds for lung health. Organized by the American Lung Association, the event saw climbers ascend 40 floors, totaling 868 steps, to support research, education, and advocacy for lung disease. Participants included individuals with personal connections to lung conditions, such as asthma, COPD, and lung cancer, as well as those honoring loved ones affected by these diseases. The event not only promotes physical fitness but also underscores the importance of clean air and lung health, with participants like firefighters in full gear highlighting the physical demands of their profession and its relevance to respiratory health.
