  • Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry announced the new Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health will be Bruce Greenstein.

Bruce Greenstein, the former Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health, was sentenced to two years in prison for his involvement in a kickback scheme related to a $200 million Medicaid contract. Greenstein, who served under Governor Bobby Jindal, was found guilty of perjury and other charges after he lied about his relationship with a vendor, CNSI, which won a contract to modernize Louisiana's Medicaid system. The scheme involved Greenstein receiving a job offer from CNSI in exchange for helping the company secure the contract. Additionally, Greenstein was fined $75,000 and ordered to pay $45,000 in restitution.
