He recommends avoiding crunches, which can strain the neck and lower back, and instead opting for planks to strengthen the core. Singh also advises against behind-the-neck lat pulldowns, suggesting front lat pulldowns to prevent shoulder injuries. He discourages the use of the Smith machine for squats, recommending free-weight squats for a more natural movement. Additionally, he warns against using the seated leg extension machine, which can stress the knees, and proposes lunges as a better option. Lastly, Singh criticizes the use of the seated hip abductor/adductor machine, advocating for side-lying leg lifts to target the same muscle groups more effectively.
