  A new study suggests that more movement in the morning may have unique cardiovascular benefits for older adults.

A study published in the European Respiratory Journal suggests that exercising in the evening, specifically between 6 pm and midnight, may offer the most benefits for heart and lung health. Researchers from the University of Sydney analyzed data from over 30,000 participants who wore fitness trackers and found that evening physical activity was associated with the lowest risk of premature death and cardiovascular disease, particularly for those who are overweight or obese. The study proposes that exercising later in the day could help regulate blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and inflammation, contributing to improved heart and lung function. While the findings indicate a potential optimal time for exercise, experts emphasize that the most important factor is engaging in regular physical activity at any time of the day.
