  • Five-time Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics Agnes Keleti has died at the age of 103. Until her death, Keleti, who survived the Holocaust in her native Hungary, was the oldest living Olympic champion.

Agnes Keleti, a Holocaust survivor and one of the most decorated female Olympic gymnasts, passed away at the age of 100. Born in Budapest in 1921, Keleti survived the Holocaust by hiding in a convent and later in a safe house. After World War II, she resumed her gymnastics career, winning 10 Olympic medals, including five golds, at the 1952 Helsinki and 1956 Melbourne Olympics. Her achievements include gold medals in floor exercise, balance beam, and uneven bars, among others. Keleti's life story is one of resilience and triumph, having overcome the atrocities of the Holocaust to become an Olympic legend. She later moved to Israel, where she continued to influence gymnastics as a coach.
