First US case of rare H5N9 bird flu reported; Difference between H5N1 and H5N9

The first human case of the rare H5N9 bird flu strain was reported in the United States, as confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This case involved a person in Texas who had direct contact with infected dairy cattle. The patient experienced mild symptoms and has since recovered.
