  • After a disastrous week that saw an outage render most of its devices useless for 24 hours, Garmin is trying to get back on track with its continued rollout of beta features. The latest is the 20.14 public beta for owners of one of the best Garmin Watch models, the Fenix 7 range.

The Garmin Fenix 7 has received a public beta update that introduces several enhancements and fixes, but with a notable caveat. This update, version 16.16, includes improvements to heart rate monitoring accuracy, particularly during swimming, and addresses issues with map display, ensuring that maps now load correctly. However, installing this beta version will disable the ECG app, a crucial health feature, until Garmin releases a subsequent update to re-enable it. Users interested in testing the new features must weigh the benefits of the update against the temporary loss of the ECG functionality.
