  • Boston-based New Balance donated $5 million to support the construction of a new indoor track and gymnasium at a recreational facility planned for Dorchester.

The Fieldhouse Plus, a youth sports facility in Hyde Park, has received a $5 million donation from New Balance, as announced by the Boston Unity Soccer Partners (BUSP). This donation aims to support the facility's mission of providing accessible sports programs to children, particularly those from underserved communities. The Fieldhouse Plus, which opened in 2022, offers a variety of sports including soccer, basketball, and volleyball, and has already impacted over 1,000 young athletes. The funds will help expand programs, enhance facilities, and ensure that financial barriers do not prevent participation. New Balance's contribution underscores their commitment to community development through sports, aligning with their broader initiatives in youth sports and community engagement.
