American trade and academic publisher Human Kinetics has bought Lotus Publishing, a small Sussex-based press focused on highly illustrated titles in anatomy, sport and health.

Human Kinetics, a publisher specializing in physical activity and health, has acquired Lotus Publishing, a UK-based company known for its books on yoga, Pilates, and nutrition, for an undisclosed sum. This acquisition aims to expand Human Kinetics' reach in the UK and Europe, enhancing their product offerings in health, fitness, and wellness. Lotus Publishing, established in 2003, will continue to operate under its existing management, with its founder, John Mair, expressing enthusiasm about the growth opportunities this merger presents. The deal also includes the integration of Lotus' distribution through Marston Book Services, aligning with Human Kinetics' strategy to broaden its market presence and content diversity.
