ACCESS of Wilmington has hosted outdoor programs at Miracle Field in Olsen Park since 2013. The park is also currently home to Kiwanis Miracle Playground, the largest accessible playground in the Southeast. The existing properties have received support from both New Hanover County and the city of Wilmington.

Wilmington, North Carolina, is set to enhance its recreational facilities with the construction of an Olympic-sized swimming pool and an inclusive recreation park, as announced by city officials on December 5, 2024. The project, funded by a combination of federal grants, state allocations, and local contributions, aims to provide top-tier amenities for residents and visitors alike. The Olympic-sized pool will cater to competitive swimmers, local swim teams, and community events, while the inclusive recreation park will feature accessible playgrounds, sports facilities, and green spaces designed to accommodate individuals of all abilities. This development is part of a broader initiative to promote health, wellness, and community engagement in the region, with construction expected to begin in early 2025 and completion targeted for late 2026.
