This decision came in response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the All Jharkhand Employers' Association, challenging the constitutionality of the Jharkhand State Employment of Local Candidates in Private Sector Bill, 2021. The court's interim order prevents the enforcement of this law until further notice, citing potential violations of fundamental rights and the freedom to conduct business. The legislation, which was intended to provide employment opportunities to local residents, has sparked debate over its implications for private businesses and the broader economic environment in Jharkhand.
