Northwell Health partnered with Stacker to see which states have seen the biggest declines in senior health, using data from the CDC.

The article from MSN discusses a study by NiceRx which analyzed data from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute to identify states where the health of older people is declining the most. The study looked at various health metrics including poor physical health days, poor mental health days, and low birth weight, among others. According to the findings, the states experiencing the most significant health declines among older populations are primarily in the South and Midwest. Notably, Louisiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, and West Virginia are highlighted for having the worst health outcomes, with Louisiana ranking at the bottom due to high rates of poor physical and mental health days, as well as other health-related issues. The article suggests that these declines could be attributed to factors like limited access to healthcare, socioeconomic conditions, and lifestyle choices prevalent in these regions.
