Glen Bailey, a 56-year-old from Stoke-on-Trent, is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the most weight lifted in 24 hours by a man over 50. His goal is to lift 600,000kg, surpassing the current record of 582,000kg set by Barry Hucker in 2019. Glen, who has been training for this event for over a year, plans to lift 100kg every 10 seconds, which would require him to perform 6,000 lifts. His motivation stems from personal tragedy, as he lost his wife to cancer, and he aims to raise funds for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice. The event is scheduled to take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Stoke-on-Trent, where he will be supported by friends, family, and the local community.
