Evie smart ring review: in the year of smart rings, this woman-first health tracker falls short
- The Evie smart ring hit the market with a splash in late 2023, promising to address the otherwise underrepresented women's health tracking market with features like period tracking and symptom journaling,
The Evie Smart Ring, designed specifically for women, aims to provide health tracking tailored to female physiology but falls short in several areas according to a review by TechRadar. Despite its sleek design and the inclusion of features like heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and menstrual cycle tracking, the ring suffers from significant issues. The companion app is buggy, often failing to sync data or provide accurate insights, which undermines the ring's utility. Additionally, the Evie Ring lacks key features like SpO2 monitoring and NFC payments, which are available in competing smart rings. Its battery life is also underwhelming, lasting only about three days, and the overall user experience is marred by these shortcomings, leading to the conclusion that while the concept is promising, the execution does not meet the expectations set by other smart rings in the market.
