  • The 75 Hard wellness challenge - which also involves quitting alcohol, drinking three litres of water and reading - has strict rules to promote mental and physical fitness.

The 75-day fitness challenge, popularized by Andy Frisella, involves a strict regimen of diet, exercise, and mental conditioning, but it's not without its risks and benefits. Participants are required to follow a diet, drink a gallon of water daily, perform two workouts (one must be outdoors), read 10 pages of a non-fiction book, and take a progress photo every day for 75 days. While this challenge can lead to significant physical improvements like weight loss, increased muscle mass, and better cardiovascular health, it also poses potential health risks if not approached with care. The lack of rest days can lead to overtraining, increasing the risk of injuries, burnout, and mental health issues like stress or depression. Additionally, the strict dietary rules might encourage disordered eating patterns. Experts suggest that while the challenge can be motivating, it's crucial to listen to your body, ensure adequate recovery, and perhaps modify the challenge to include rest days or less rigid dietary restrictions to maintain long-term health and fitness.
