  • The finances of young Australians have been put under increasing strain in recent years, forcing many to make lifestyle changes to account for the ongoing cost of living pressures - cutting back on discretionary purchases chief among them.

A recent survey by Finder has revealed that young Australians, particularly those from Generation Z, are outspending other generations on fitness, with an average monthly expenditure of $105. This trend highlights a significant investment in health and wellness among the youth, driven by a desire to look good and feel healthy. The survey also noted that while Gen Z spends the most, Baby Boomers spend the least, averaging $35 a month. The findings suggest a cultural shift towards valuing physical fitness from a younger age, possibly influenced by social media and health trends.
