A recent study highlighted in Moneycontrol suggests that blocking mobile internet on smartphones can significantly benefit mental health, creativity, and social skills. The research, conducted by psychologists from the University of California, Irvine, and Humboldt University, Berlin, found that participants who experienced a 24-hour internet blackout reported lower stress levels, reduced anxiety, and an increase in face-to-face interactions. The study involved 200 participants divided into two groups: one with unrestricted internet access and another with a complete internet block. Those without internet access showed improvements in cognitive functions, creativity, and interpersonal relationships, suggesting that periodic disconnection from the digital world could enhance overall well-being and productivity.
