According to an article on MSN, a study published in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease found that engaging in regular physical exercise can significantly boost brain health in just 12 weeks. The research, conducted by scientists at the University of California, San Francisco, involved participants aged 65 and older who were at risk for developing Alzheimer's disease. The participants who engaged in moderate-intensity aerobic exercise, such as brisk walking, for 30 minutes a day, four days a week, showed improved cognitive function and increased volume in the hippocampus, a brain region crucial for memory and learning. The study suggests that incorporating regular physical activity into one's routine can be a simple yet effective way to maintain brain health and potentially reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.
