  • Public health advisory issued due to an overflowed manhole near 12560 State Line Road in Leawood, Kanasas.

A public health advisory was issued in Louisville, Kentucky, after a sewer overflow caused by heavy rainfall released approximately 93,000 gallons of sewage into the Ohio River on March 25, 2023. The Louisville/Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) reported that the overflow occurred at the Paddy's Run Flood Pump Station, and while the river is safe for recreational use, people are advised to avoid contact with the water near the incident site for 48 to 72 hours due to potential health risks from bacteria and other contaminants. The MSD is monitoring the situation and has taken steps to mitigate the impact of the overflow.
